Castelo de Vide, the town where we live, is only a few minutes away by car and 20-30 minutes on foot. Waiting for you are lanes lined with little houses, sweet little shops, a Jewish quarter with an old synagogue, and an old castle that is still lived in today.

It is only a 20-25 minute drive up to Marvão, a village on a rock with an impressive castle for you to explore. From up here the view reaches all the way to Spain.

On the river beach at Portagem there is a pool fed with cool water from the mountain river Sever. There are shady trees, a café and an area of shallow water for the children.
